JD 4010 Roll-a-matic

I am working on my landlords 4010 with a roll-a-matic front end.

I have a few questions.
1. Did they make a light duty and heavy duty roll-a-matics? if so how do you ID Them?
2. Where do I find parts to replace broken gears? IF not available does anyone weld them up?
3. Does anyone have any diagrams or books showing how to rebuild these?

Any help would be great.

Matt

Yes the was regular & HD roll-o-matic frt ends. Regular has 1/2'' rivets & HD has 5/8'' rivets(key 3)

Cap(key 21) is more rectangular on HD with 3/8 cap screws in 5/16 cap screws.

I think if it was my tractor I'd look for a complete frt axle rather than repair old one.

If it has the regular one I don't think parts have
been available for several years.
Don't know where you are but I might consider selling
a regular one if that's what you have. Won't ship.

As Tx Jim said there was a regular and heavy duty rollamatic.
I'm in Ky so you probably wouldn't want to make that trip.

Heavy duty no longer available either.
RH marked R30389 and R30387 for HD.
LH marked R30390 and R30388 for HD.
That should tell you which you have.
Check your local salvage yards.
Consider a used wide front if don't
have to have a tri.
If yours is HD I might have a spindle
I could ship.

You should be able to find a complete R-O-M front end for around $200. I doubt you could repair one for that.
