Need injectors for Early 4020

Couple weeks ago I posted about servicing my Early 4020 injectors and who could service these old injectors. Today the Diesel shop called and the tips are bad and they can not rebuild. So I'm getting them shipped back and I am in the market for some injectors now. Anybody got any ideas on who is a good source for the older thick injectors that Deere used on the early 4020's?

When I saw this, I was about to call the nearby injection shop I deal with about another matter, so I asked them about your problem, as well.

They said they have tips on the shelf, and can still get most, if not all parts the large 4020 injectors would require.

Possibly, you found a place that simply doesn't want to deal with them, my pump guy said parts (of course) are expensive and they are a time-consuming unit t rebuild, but it's certainty doable.

Most used Bendix, some used American Bosch injectors. Both type had a separate nozzle tip with the valve above the tip, and parts will not interchange between brands. Tips are available for Bendix, but expensive. Not sure about the AB injector, never tried getting parts for those..

First decide if you want to spend the amount it is going to take to buy a set and then rebuild them. If it was mine I would buy a latter 4020 head, six new pencil injecters and a used set of lines. You might spend a little more but will have a much better set up when done. First place I would look for a head and lines is ebay. You might also check there for a set of early injecters as well. I did this to my 3010 twenty years ago. Tom

They can be rebuilt w/o new valves.
There were three different brands.
Let me know if I can help.

Probably not the route you want to take, but tractor pullers in my area have been using the later KDEL style injector from later 4430 and up engines, they are modifying the body to work with the clamps and custom lines of course. They are drilling out the injector hole in the head to accommodate the 9mm tip.

I forgot to add in my earlier post that the shop offered to sell me replacements for $ 285.00 each. I told them I needed time to think about this. Has anybody purchased rebuilt injectors from the big salvage yards Abilene or Worthington?
