Follow up on 3020 pusher bolt removal

About a week ago I posted about dealing with a broken off bolt. I want to thank ET, Tim S, and tomstractorsandtoys for their suggestions in helping me remove the stuck pusher bolt on our 3020 rear hub. After drilling through it with a 3/8" bit, we applied heat several times, attempting to free the stuck bolt stub enough to budge it. We threaded the hole, screwed a Grade 8 bolt in there, and rattled it with an impact wrench- no luck. So we lit up the torch and melted the remains of the bolt out of the hole. After getting it fairly cleared out with the torch, we ran an 11/16" drill bit down to clean things up a little more, then alternately pulled out old bolt threads with a pick and ran a 7/8" tap in to finish things up. The new bolt threaded in by hand.

Thanks again,

LonM

Glad you got it.
Really fun when you have to quote someone a repair job that involves moving those wheels as you never know what it will take to do it.
