Where is US B oil pressure regulator?

Parts book shows 10 parts that are the pressure regulator for sn up to 40xxx. I looked, used mirror and flashlite, and do not see it. Connecting rods are out, crankcase clean. Did the Easter Bunny hide it? Anybody know? This tractor is sn30xxx. Was it an option?

Look in front of the governor towards the bottom. Take off nut and you should find a threaded looking bolt that you can turn in or out with a regular screwdriver

It's on top of the oil filter canister down in the crankcase. Oil pressure should be between medium and high. To much oil pressure and they will smoke and us oil. Some of the after market gauges read low, checking with a good original JD is best when setting.

The lines attach to the pressure regulator. At the top of the regulator is a big nut with a screw with a slot cut in it for a screwdriver. You will need to loosen the nut before you can move the screw in or out. Out =less pressure and in = more pressure. Set it at about 12 PSI. DO NOT use the gauge on the tractor, use a mechanics oil pressure gauge.

If i remember right the earlier B's had the pressure regulator inside the crankcase down by the oil filter housing. Only the later B's had the pressure regulator on the outside forward of the belt pulley. you can look it up on the Deere parts website. i don't remember the serial break.

Thanks all, Looked more today, yup, there it is in the Gov housing. That's why I did not see it in the crankcase. Got oil in and pumping to rod bearing oil holes so time to put pistons in.
