plow wheel question

I like to mess around with old plows, fix them clean them and get them painted to look like new. found my first JD a model 52. I want to take the land wheel off so I can clean and relube the trip clutch. I took the cap off removed the pin and shim collar, the wheel will slide to about 1/4 of an inch from the end of the axle. It feels like there is something still holding it from coming off.I cannot see any reason why it will not come off never ran into anything like this before. Could someone tell me what I'm missing so I can get this apart with breaking something Thanks

Go to jdparts.com Enter. 52. In the parts Manual search box Scroll down through the implements listed until you get to plow, click and wait. This will download a free parts Manual for you. Don't forget to save it to your computer.

If I remember correctly, that wheel is pressed on a slightly tapered sleeve and sometimes can be a bugger to get off but with a little patience it can be removed; some prying and maybe a little hammering. I have taken several off; some come easy, others quite difficult.
