My Uncle had this 4230 Superstock back in the 70s. I wanted to make a copy out of a 1/16 scale toy. I see I can buy a 4040 toy or there's lots of old "no model number" sound gard cab tractor toys like I had growing up. The 4040 toy seems a little smaller than the other type. Which toy would be more like a 4230 size? Thanks!

Check Ebay as years ago they made a 4230 toy maybe 20 years ago. The new 4040 might be the same casting. Look up Dakota Toys and they will have a large selection of tires and parts. As soon as I saw the shop pic I knew who it was before I even looked at who the poster was. Tom

Thanks for the responses.

Yes I discovered Dakota toys last winter and it's great! Built a copy of Grandad's 4320 Super last Christmas for my brother. Bought some little leaf weights and wheels from them. Made the hump on the hood from some wood and body putty. Carpet foam wrapped around a dowl rod for the air cleaner. Came out really neat. Now I want to make myself one and I'll make one of these 4230s while I'm at it. I think it'll be much easier this time around, and doing a few at once while I'm set up making parts.

I love this picture. Mom found it in some old slides. Well, the farming slides I had posted on here before actually. We decided that they are from 1973. In this one, they are probably getting ready for the indoor pull at the Harrisburg Farm Show arena. Notice the hoop going behind the drivers head to hold the exhaust pipe extension for the smoke machine that would be at the pull. It looks to me like the pictures of them readying Apollo 11 for launch. HA HA HA!
