JD 2020 Hydraulic Line Check Valve

JD 2020 I split the tractor to replace the clutch to do so I removed the 2 hydraulic lines to the main pump at the front of the transmission case. In my shop manual (page 220-10-3 Check Valve) it says don't lose the main hydraulic pump inlet line check valve but there is not one in the line all I find is what appears to be is part T23203 valve seat and nothing else. I looked at the parts break down 3B14 and 3B15 and it does not show a valve only valve seat. 3B16 and 3B17 part # 17 18 and 19 show a valve but only on a collar shift transmission. So do I need the valve or not?
Also I forgot to mark which line goes to which hole in the transmission any idea?

Here is a pic for you it goes in the pipe closest to the brake valve.

That picture is indicated for collar shift transmission but not for the normal clutch transmission so should I install the valve?

I think 2020 only had a collar shift trans with or without hyd reverser. What are you calling normal trans?

If your line looks like the pic it should have
the valve.
There's no telling how many of those valves
ended up in the drain pan by guys not knowing
they were there.

I don't "look" for them to repair that's for sure...it's kinda like hauling manure,,you don't really want to do it...but you have to now and then...

Just replaced mine in a 1520 same thing its supposed to keep the fluid from draining back. the clip on mine #20 broke. the 1st spring and ball came out when i pulled the line off the rest was stuck in the housing. deere still has the parts they even had it in stock so no problem replacing it.
