I'm new to this forum, so please let me know if I'm in the wrong place for these questions or if anything inappropriate.
My brother and I have 2 1956 JD 420Ts that belonged to our Dad. We are considering selling them, as they just are not being used. Both were running and had been in use. They had been in what I would call Farm Use Condition Ie not perfect paint or maintained for looks or show... just practical farm condition. They have sat with very little use for some time now... though I think they both could fire up. Both are still 6V. One is double front wheel tricycle, and the other is single fat front wheel tricycle. The unique aspect is that they have sequential serial numbers. That was something my Dad appreciated, but I'm not sure how much value JD enthusiasts would place on it.
As I said... at this time we are just considering, and wondering what values might be reasonable to place on them and if there would be interest by anyone in keeping them under single ownership.
What do you think?

Your in the right place, you will get many opinions of value. Sometimes people are able to get over 3K for them but most of the time
not in my area. I will say a Picture is worth 1000 words of opinions.. Neat they are so closely related & it would be a Shame to separate
them....

5-10yrs ago, 420/430's with live pto in good
solid shape were bringing 3500-4500 in
Michigan. Very nice ones on up to 6000.
They've taken a hit lately. Seen some in the
2000-2500 area lately. The serial numbers
might add a little value to the right
person. Definitely cool. Just food for
thought, I really wish I had my grandpas
3020 and my other grandpas Oliver 77 orchard
that were sold years ago. Your drum might
not beat the same as mine though.

I know pics would be helpful.... but the 420s are tucked in the back of the barn behind things that actually get taken out of the barn occasionally!

I'm right there with you on that! There are already other things that have departed the farm that I wish I had back. But eventually one runs out of indoor space to store all the things that aren't being used. I personally can't use the 420s, and my brother has two other tractors that he uses all the time and that suit his needs more closely. I just feel badly that the 420s are sitting unused and appearing to be unloved! I really miss hearing the sound of them running and doing work, as they did in my childhood and even more recently when the farm was more active and my Dad used them regularly.

Just bought a 430/w loader. Came of a working farm, fresh rebuild at dealer. Gave $2200. Just what he was asking. Probably had that much in the rebuild. Loader had bucket and forks. Nice tires and original top link. Rear blade also.

No kidding! Wish my 430 cost that little to buy.
