4630 Hydraulic Pump

I would say from under is faster, if you are 2 peoples. Worst part is to get the JIC fittings loose.

That seems overkill. You can just slide to the side the the 2 top plates, remove the X plate under the frame channels, disconnect the pump fitting and pump drive, and remove pump and pump support in one piece.

I did it on a 4440 with HFWD, which is worse because of the HFWD valves. Pretty sure that 4440 is exact same front as a 4630.

As I said before, those tractor would have been much better to service with the pump installed like the allis chalmers 7060, or old Case 70 series.

Out the bottom is the easiest way, unbolt the pump frame from the front of the engine and let that end down first, a 2X4 and a helper on the other end will let it down and out..

I started pulling front pumps by removing from cradle and loop a #9 wire through top banjo fitting bolt and lifting pump only out by hoist or come-a-long. Oil cooler/condenser needs to be moved out of the way.

On A 4630 the fuel tank is over top of the pump,,it limits the options of removal...but that is a good way of hanging the pump,, I have a fitting with an "Eye" welded on it for that when I can do it..

I would troubleshoot and be certain of the problem before yanking the front pump out.
The 4630 used the 2000 series pumps in either the 50cm3 and 30gpm base model or the 65cm3 and 40gpm version.
