Moving wheels and broke one of the two pusher bolts off. Got the wheel off but wondering how to get the broken bolt out. Thank you for any suggestions!

You might have to blow it out with a torch. The bolt is steel so it will melt and blow out before the cast center gets hot enough to melt.I always remove the pusher bolts and clean and lube the threads and I keep a couple of new bolts to use if the pusher bolts are pitted bad. You can screw them out. You will ruin the little soft metal lock ring that keeps them from loosing out on their own. The design was great when everyone moved wheels for plowing, cultivating or corn pickers but after setting 40-50 years not much fun. Tom

I drill them out, some times i run a ratchet strap through the wheel holes and place it over the end of the drill,, some one holds the drill straight and some one runs the ratchet,, kinda "Hill Billy" but it works well..

Thank you both for your help. I have a 3/8" hole drilled through it now, and will soak it with penetrating oil for a couple of days before either trying to continue drilling, or cutting it out with a torch.

The torch way works even better when you have a hole all the way through, it gives a way for the molten metal to blow through,, when I drill I start with a bit that fills the hole to help get it centered, then I try for a 5/8" bit hoping to keep it straight,,then step up again, trying to stay with in the threads, then run a tap in to chase out the threads,,it's a big job,the best way is "not" to twist them off...I get a lot of them in here after some one trys and fails to get them loose,, I would rather they don't even try...just bring them in ...

I have best luck doing like Tim says, drill it all the way though and burn it out with a torch. If you crank up the oxygen pressure to 50psi on the torches it helps to blow the slag all the way through the hole. Run a tap through after the bolt is out.
