1952 g john deere

Hello All, My kid brought home a 1952 john deere G. we are trying to get it to run,and I have not purchased a parts and service manual as of yet. Would someone please let us know how the spark plug wires are to be connected. it has a distributor. Question where does the top wire go, left or right hand side, while setting on the seat? Thanks-Happy
