4430 Pres Control Valve

I posted a message several days ago about a hydraulic leak on a 4430. The part that needs to be replaced is AR74194 and I picked it up yesterday. It was suggested to use a sawzall to cut off the old elbow so the part can be removed.

I am always afraid I'll tear something up when I do not understand how everything goes together... but looking at the parts diagram, the new part and the service manual I am not sure how the pressure control valve is attached?

When I back out the fitting (large nut on housing) will the valve be attached?

Thanks!

No the valve just floats in there.
As I said before you should replace
that hose with a correct pipe or the
new elbow will develop a leak from
constant movement.

To add to what D stated the pressure valve will be a bit spring loaded as you remove the fitting, but you will be able to push it all back in and get the nut started with out much trouble..

Thanks All!

Got the fitting off and now understand how things fit together. As Tech 7 suggested when I started to put the new fitting on realized I was not smart enough to have an o-ring, but will get one tomorrow and putting things back together should be straight forward.

Without your help I would have an old tractor in the corner of the barn that didn't run...with your help I should be ready to plant some peanuts in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Again!
