John Deere 3020 engines block

Have a John Deere 3020 diesel.wanted some opinions on the possibilities of using the block again. The head gasket seals compression on the liners, their is coolant on both sides of the crack and the head gasket should keep coolant from leaking to the outside of the block with the help of some copper coat. There was no sign of water in the oil before I started to work on it.Just had broken piston ring's scorched pistons and ring gap's were lined up,on different pistons

Seeing as how a 3020D used block in perfect condition is less common than Unicorns, I'd go with what you have. If the block deck is really rough, you can have it resurfaced. When we blw a rod out the side of a 3020D block back in the '90's, the place we got the short block from wanted ALL the pieces of block that the rod knocked out. They were planning on welding the hole shut (no webbing was broken). Now that company is gone I think (TTP out of Indiana).
