I want to buy my brothers 1965 4020 and
don't know what a fair offer would be. It's
a propane wide front powershift. Dual
remotes. Like new rear tires. Paint is
faded but isn't rusty. Has a 148 loader i
think. Stack of front weights. Pto won't
disengage. I don't know how scared I should
be of that. I know it's a double split to
get to the clutch. West ohio/east indiana
area.

A propane powershift isn't exactly a common tractor... but the pto clutch isn't usually a quickie fix. If it were me, not more than $4500. Maybe I am too low because of the loader, but the farm economy is slow, not everybody wants to learn how to fuel LP things, etc.

It's your brother- what does he think????

If you do go for it, get the PTO fixed. A non stopping PTO has plenty of dangers, and I'm sure you like your family with all their fingers and toes!!!

The loader makes me think that Coonie is a little bit low. An LP wide front syncro sold in my area for $4500 on a consignment sale a few weeks ago.A good 148 loader with a valve and no welds is worth $1800-2500.The pto not stopping makes me want to say $5500 for the outfit if everything else is good. Tom

Loader if nice no welds tight bushing $2500 Weights if slabs $50 each propane not rare but not real popular PTO brake repair around $2000.Being its family best to see what He is thinking and reach acceptable fiqure.Personally not very desirable but coonie Minnie isn't too far off.Tires help, while it is split need to examine P.S. which can exceed the $2000 estimate for PTO brake.

Warped PTO clutch discs and second split to replace PTO brake would be a $3000 to $4500 repair in my shop.
