Can somebody help me identify the model of the JD crawler just from the pics I attached? A relative is giving it to me and I just want to know specifics. Thank you in advance.

Are they only used for light grading? Or can they actually be used for
pushing up very small trees and briar thickets?

Yes you can pick away with them to take out brush and small trees, the main problem is people try to hog out to much at a time and over stress the drives. Originally they had a tag on the rt side of the motor block to the rt of the oil filter.. you can check to see if it's still their under the paint.

Briar thickets are doable with this machine. A 6" hickory is a real rassling match, but you can tilt the blade and cut the roots around it, and with patience, finally get it down. Bottom line is - the tracks need to spin or the clutches slip, or you'll bust something important. I know this from personal experience.

I'm impressed that someone thought enough of it that they parked it inside and on rubber belting. That's a good sign.

It's a pretty clean looking machine. Good luck with your new dozer.
