Diesel Exhaust Cleaning

Just want to be sure, but does anyone know on a 2013 JD 6105D, when the exhaust cleaning light comes on telling you the exhaust is hot enough to clean, can you continue to run normally? The tractor speeds up to 1250 rpm I believe and won't go below that, but can you go ahead and run it full speed?

Also, does it get hot enough say baling prairie hay to worry about setting the grass on fire if it is cleaning when you are baling? Anyone have much time with the setup? Thanks in advance - Bob

Yes you can. If everything is working correctly you shouldn't even notice the light is on or that the tractor is regening when working. We've never had any problems with the fire hazards when baling. We are actually more concerned about the pickup hitting a rock causing sparks or a bearing going out and causing a fire. Still, it's a good idea to just keep the tractor clean. We've had over 20 pieces of equipment that have Tier 4 engines including combines. So far we haven't had any issues.

Many thanks greenenvy. That is how I understood the manual but figured I would look for some real time experience. Thanks for the reply - Bob
