excessive axle wear

On the JD 92 mm axles the bearing turned on the axle as well as the spacer that the seal rides on and wore where the spacer rides , so is there any fix to saving the axle and actually wore part of the axle off where the spacer is supposed to have set

92 mm? Not sure what tractor you are working on but there is an undersize bearing kit available for many models that requires turning toe axle to accept a bearing with a smaller ID

If not wore too much as others said turn axle to fit bearing with bigger hole. Is an update kit to set preload. Procedure uses lead balls, tighten to x foot pounds, measure width of squashed ball and but in shims to equal, and then tighten her down.

You can have a shaft or axel spray welded and turned back to size. not sure of the cost compared to under sized bearing.

This will not cause the axle to break later on ?? The place where the bearing goes yes it can be ground but the spot where the spacer goes is
under specs does anyone know if a speedy sleeve is available ??

The undersize kit and grinding specs are in the John Deere parts catalog and repair manual. I have done several with no issues

What is the tractor model? 92 mm axle have been used on many models. Keep in mind the axle is heat treated so use of heat to repair the axle will most likely result in a problem later. You may be better off finding a used axle.
