John Deere H manual start

Friend of mine has a JD H with electric start.

I know that they made a stub shaft that you can use with your steering wheel to manually start. Does that work with any type of hand crank? Seems like it wouldnt be easy to start with the steering wheel.

Mine came with a homemade crank. Easy to make one if it has the rounded hub bolted to the flywheel? PO didn't use the starter, no battery and wiring was bad. It started so easily I never bothered to fix it.

I had a 1946 A years ago that I used a steering wheel to start. Worked great. After a couple years, I
bought a battery.
