I have a 4455 quad. Only has 2800 hours on it. Pto slipped on the disc bine last year. As soon as it slipped I shut it off and put a different tractor in it. Havent used it for anything since. It's now time to fix it. I have an I.T. book for it and it says my system pressure should be 170-180. I have 160. When checking the pto clutch port I get 115. All at 2000 rpms. Trans Clutch reads 160 also. The trans clutch pressure will go down to about 145 at idle and stay at 160 at wide open. Lube pressure is exactly what book says. Should I go ahead and split the tractor and do the pto clutch? Also should I remove the valve and look at piston? Never been inside a quad before just a powershift. Also should I add shims to get system pressure up? Did not change filter and oil yet was going to do that after the split job. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes be sure to deal with the PTO piston seals, a replace both sets of clutches while you are in there, it takes a special set up tool to set them, not a bad job to do,, I would be happy doing nothing but clutches if I had the choice,, but it can't all be Gravy..
