2440 SCV pressure

Picked up a 2440 in the fall and I am finally getting it ready to be put to work this spring. The 3 point shutters on the way up and I checked the pressure at the rear remotes, it didn't get over 20 PSI. If I put the fitting before the PCV on the pressure line it will read 2400psi. I swapped the PCV with one off of my 1020 and no change. I may swap the Rear valves between the two tractors and see if that narrows it down.

My IT manual says it is in the pump, but pressure seems good off of the pump and the tractor steers fine. Any tips. (I know the IT manual isn't worth much in this case)...

Sounds like pressure is okay, but may not have much flow, causing chattering/stuttering. Have you changed trans filter and screen? They may be plugged.

Could you attach gauge to the rear of priority valve where line attaches that supplies scv? I think that would be easier than swapping scv's. Is 3 pt L/D lever under seat in D or minimum?

I had already swapped the valves by the time I saw this.

It is in the valve, the valve off of the 1020 puts out around 2300psi. I will go and pickup a kit, any tricks to rebuilding theses valves?

Thanks

It had a little shutter, but not as much. Two of the 4 spools in the 2440 valve had bad/busted seals where the valve seats. I am going to go ahead and replace all 4 of them.

The three point hitch rockshaft system is bleeding high pressure oil to the sump. Why blame either pump because of a leak downstream ?
Throw away the p.o.c. IT manual before it leads you astray. Obtain a real JD manual from 1-800-522-7448.
