7700 combine engine

anyone know what the 7700 diesels were rated at for horse power? been kicking around putting one in a 4020 only have my time thinking about it and having a hard time convincing my self its worth messing with any thing I have found would cost about as much as buying a good running 4020 so its kind of like what's the point in doing all the work

Non turbo diesels were 128 hp and turboed versions were a 145 hp.

My brother put a engine in a 4020 from a 95 combine works great for him. just info only.

The first 7700 engines are a direct bolt in for a 4020. The later engines will take a little work. We put an early 7700 engine in our Deere 105 combine. The later 404 turbo engines bring $17-2200 around here. Mt Craigslist has one now for $2500. Tom

Are you sure it wasnt a 105 engine? The 95 used a Dubuque engine that would have required an adapter plate to bolt into the 4020's Waterloo style bellhousing. The 95 engine would also have been a touch weak for a 4020.
