I have a leaky axle seal on the ol 60 and want to do the job right. Went to my trusty exploded diagram from Deer of the 60 with part numbers and was shocked that my local parts guy told me outer felt seal pn F 786R is obsolete. Is there a new number or a place other than deer to get one?

Fred, where in MO are you located. I'm near Joplin, we may need to compare notes sometime. I have a 60 leaking right side axle also.

Fred,
AA510R is the p/n for the inner oil seal. They're available from Deere for about $43 each.

You can do a lot better at NAPA or other parts places. The specs on the seal from the JD parts site are: 2.750" shaft diameter 3.756" seal O.D. 0.433" width Single lip, Nitrile, garter spring seal

The outer felt seal is just a dust seal. You can wash the original felt out in gasoline and then oil it and reuse. The axle seal is inside the axle housing. The powertrol and axles need to be removed.

I'm no expert with the parts manuals but I came up with AA510 R. Hope this helps.
