Model 60 First reduction gear gasket-revisited

Thanks everyone for your input. I decided to make my own out of 1/32 stock. I'm replacing the two back-to-back crankshaft seals. The Deere PN AA5122 R cross-references to National PN 415995 if you drop the R. All of you probably already know this, but it won't work. Diameter dimensions are OK, but the thickness is .375", the Deere part in .325" thick. Two seals at .375" puts the outer seal about .125" outside the casting by the time you allow oil hole access on the inside. Maybe this info will help someone looking to save some money. You gotta go with Deere, no one else could find another seal that would fit.

I remember something like that on my 720D LH crank seal. It is a late model with an oil seal in there. IIRC I put the housing in the lathe and made the counterbore deeper.

Got a couple of questions, do you plan on doing anything with where the seal rides???

And how about the main bearing. If it's worn it won't help that seal any.

I was just curious because I think the one on the 620 leaks. Not sure when I'll get to it because it's always like opening a can of worms when I tear something apart.

Thanks.

Dial indicator shows .004" movement if I'm doing it correctly. I don't think you'll ever get the PTO drive gear off without heat and the gear puller has to reach 10-11
inches.

With the movement of around .004 I don't plan on doing anything. The seal that came out is very very hard and leaking bad enough to overfill the transmission. I can
easily break the old seal surfaces with my fingers.
