Is that some kind of sealer along the side of the
housing.
It would be unusual for there to be a leak at that
gasket unless the bolts had been loose.
Are you sure the oil is not leaking at the pressure
fitting and running back?

What is seen on the side of the housing there is hydraulic fluid...there is no sealer in the area. I have not been able to find a source of the fluid, other than it appears to be coming from between the housing and the metal beneath it.

But I will check the bolts and look carefully again.
