Looking at a 3pt V rake. I realize that large rakes on 3pts have some issues but the price makes this a possible upgrade for me.
Trying to decide if it would be too much rake for my 70 (think it would be).
It is a 10 wheel OTMA rake (almost identical to a sitrex). Not sure what it weighs, a bit of research suggests it might be around 1200 lbs.

The 3pt isn't an original JD but it does use the tractors rockshaft for power and the power troll.

Since we all like pictures of old tractors, here's one I have that shows the 3pt fairly well.

I seriously doubt it . The front of the tractor would be up in the air . That would be a job for a 4020 to be safe .

A friend told me he used a similar rake on a 2510 and had a post pounder on the front. He said even then it was a bit light in the front.
I have weights and can put them on the front, guess I'll have to go look at the rake and make a decision. It sounds like it will be too much for the tractor.
