Just got a nice 4555 and everything works except the MPH and temp guage.Looks like its easy to replace but don't want to lose the hours as that is what helps resell them.Question can they be repaired or have to be replaced as I know they were a problem on many 55s.I imagine once it is unhooked from current it becomes blank.A new one can possibly have hours reprogramed but that's way above my skill level.It works fine just no MPH and temp guage never moves.I had one a while back that just showed an exclamation point and it was a sensor that was simple to fix.I think this probably could be more.I would guess a new dash would be pricey Thanks!
 

Dash maybe fully functional but it won't show mph or temp if the dash unit is not receiving signal from the sending unit and wiring harness.
Trouble shooting is better than guessing.
 
I also have a 4555 and really like it. Had problem a couple of years ago with engine oil pressure sending unit but after 3 new sending units finally got it fixed. On mine, occasionally the MPH will go blank (I have radar) but if you shut it down and restart it, it returns to working. Mine has 10,3xx hrs and I am the second owner and haven't had much trouble with it. Mine is a quad tranny.
 
I've had good luck with Ag Express. Send it in, they check out and if nothing is wrong it's $75 plus return freight. If if needs repair they're the most reasonable around (they'll call you before they repair to let you know the cost). I've got a 4255 and have used them couple of times and have been extremely satisfied. That particular module is close to a grand from Deere.
