Deere 6100 telescoping steering column won't lock in place

I bought this tractor and see that the steering column slides in and out but will not lock in place. I can't turn the knob more than a few degrees. The tilt lock works fine. Any ideas?

Pop off the center cap and you will find the small nut the retains the knob for the "lock". You may have to take it off and rotate the lock rod CW in relation to the know part of a turn, then re-install the knob and nut.

Thanks, I will try that.

I got it fixed....actually I think someone used too much force loosening it and jammed it up. I took the knob off and broke the shaft loose with a wrench and it works like it should now.
