1947 D park brake lining ?

Where can I find the brake lining material for the parking brake band for my 1947 D. I used fuel tank webbing for now but not sure how long it
will last. Thanks for your help. Almost done with it.

you can find brake lining on Ebay, or google and find a place that relines clutch disks and brakes.

Deere still sells it as R93161...for $72.

That's the source I used a few years ago, there might be newer and cheaper sources now. You could probably buy some brake lining material from McMaster Carr and make it fit.

You should be able to find it at any clutch or brake rebuilder. You will have to drill and rivet it and cut it to length .

Or take the band in and have them do it for you.

There are a couple of people selling the rivet and drilling equipment to allow you to do it yourself though, Steiner being one i have seen.

You need no special tools to do it' Drill for holes for rivet ans a larger drill to countersink lining for heads of rivets.

Call Rusco-X materials Co 800 550-7413 you tell them what you need and they send it along with a bill, good people to deal with. They advertise in many of the magazines.

Thanks for all the suggestions and places to look for the lining. If I can find the material then I can rivet it to the band. Thanks again. Gcm
