My 1st time on this forum (my other tractors are Fords & Fergusons). Three months ago I bought a 1983 JD 1250. Last week moving snow with the bucket in float. About 2 hrs in I couldn't push the control lever all the way forward to put the bucket in float. Raise, lower & dump all work fine. Can't see anything external interfering with the lever. Fig. 141 in the JD-55 IT manual shows a plug, springs & dentent pawls in the detent block. My detent block is there but there's no plug & I can see the end of the detent pin move in & out when I move the control lever. Could the plug, springs & pawls have fallen out causing the loss of float? Any ideas on what could be wrong & what I should do would be greatly appreciated.
