1975 John Deere 400 garden tractor value

Is anyone out there familiar with the 1975 John Deere 400 series garden tractor? I have one with a 60 inch mower deck here in Tallahassee and I am trying to figure out what a good sales price would be. It is a great operating condition and is a horse but I need a pony for my 1 acre. Any links or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

You might look and Craig's List in your area, and see if there's any selling, or check completed auctions on ebay.

I would expect asking prices in the $1500 to $2800 range. in my (northern) area.

Twin cylinder Kohler engine is the trouble with them. They can be great then blow up right when you least expect it. It takes a real sharp one to bring more than $2000 in Eastern Iowa. Most sell in the $1200-1500 range. The JD 425s can be bought in the $2500-3000 class so that really limits the JD 400s value.
