POWER LIFT???

Need some inputs on how to troubleshoot this. Here is the problem - Clutch engaged -PTO engaged - Oil in the unit - moving the lever has no effect. Power lift does not move.

With power off and tractor shut down - I put a BMF pipe wrench on the lift shaft and it does not want to move -either direction! It seems to be stuck with no movement at all.

So - Suggestions??? Don't tell me to get another tractor!!!

Does it have the dummy plugs or plugs with an outlet? Rockshaft only works with the dummy plugs, not with a remote hookup. Look for two long 3/8 hex lock nuts, one on the left side and one lower on the rear. Take them off and don't loose the copper washers. Adjust the metering screw (left one) 2 turns out from seated. The throttle valve screw (rear one) should be backed out then 1/2 to 1 turn in. The rockshaft should lower without any weight if it's working right. The metering screw controls the raise speed. In to increase, out to decrease. Throttle valve controls the implement drop speed. In to increase, out to decrease. For remote cylinder turn the metering screw all the way in.

Thank you Mike!! I did not have to do any adjustments -but I will file that info away with all the other tips and techniques for a John Deere "A" !! I had one of the hydraulic hookup plugs still installed. I put another dummy plug in and after starting and engaging things -IT WORKS!!!!!
I am so very much relieved -now I have a 3 point hitch to use!

My next decision to be made is this - I have my parts "A" with a Baker valve installed! I am considering taking the whole hydraulic unit off my parts tractor and installing it on my 52 "A". I think it would be real nice to have an extra hydraulic outlet available!
One question about the Baker valve though - If I have the dummy plugs installed to operate the power lift -can I have the additional hydraulic active and usable from the Baker valve???? THAT would be real handy!

I don't know anything about the Baker valve. Never heard of it till a couple of years ago. Don't expect to do a lot with that Power Trol. It operates at only 900 psi. When I got my first haybine I thought I could pull it with the A but it would not lift.
