420 U input shaft

Do I have to disassemble the rear end to remove the input shaft from the tranny, need to replace needle brgs in gear on input shaft ser# 100605 I and T manual seriously deficient. THANKS STEVE

I do not think you will have to disassemble the rear end to get the input shaft out, but I do think that you will have to pull the lower shaft (idler shaft) out about a 1/2" - 3/4" to get the input shaft bearing past the cluster gear. You may not have to but, I really think you will.

If you can not clear the bevel pinion shaft (output shaft to differential) then you will need to pull the rear end apart.
