420 U input shaft

Do I have to disassemble the rear end to remove the input shaft from the tranny, need to replace needle brgs in gear on input shaft ser# 100605 I and T manual seriously deficient. THANKS STEVE

I do not think you will have to disassemble the rear end to get the input shaft out, but I do think that you will have to pull the lower shaft (idler shaft) out about a 1/2" - 3/4" to get the input shaft bearing past the cluster gear. You may not have to but, I really think you will.

setting on tractor looking down shaft on right(pinion) is keeping shaft on left (input) from coming out far enough to clear rear brg to be lift out the top,

If you can not clear the bevel pinion shaft (output shaft to differential) then you will need to pull the rear end apart.
