John Deere A 1944-1946 generator question

Need a Generator bracket, generator, Belt and Adjusting strap. I need all of these but I am not sure which bracket to go with. There seems to be several different designs for brackets through different years. Just not sure which one will fit. I looked up the part number and it shows two different brackets. Not sure which one I should go with. I think part number A3380R is the one that will fit my year just not sure can anybody help answer this question. Any recommendations where I can find the adjusting strap that goes with this bracket? Thanks for any help you can throw my way!

Take a look at the diagram below.





Note the generator mounting bracket (Key 22) [b:654c4848f0]A 3380 R[/b:654c4848f0] is designed for tractors starting with serial number 584000 and up.

Take a look at the table below.





Note that tractor with serial number 584000 was manufactured during 1947.

If you are unable to find the generator mounting bracket (Key 21) [b:654c4848f0]A 3827 R[/b:654c4848f0] designed for the Model A tractor, then the generator mounting bracket [b:654c4848f0]B 2113 R[/b:654c4848f0] designed for the Model B tractor will work.

Note the adjusting strap (Key 9) [b:654c4848f0]B 1919 R[/b:654c4848f0] in the diagram above.

This adjusting strap is also designed for the 1941 Model B tractor serial number 96000 and up.

Thanks great information. I guess these brackets are pretty much universal through the years. It would make narrowing down parts a lot easier if this tractor had a serial number tag on it. I found a A3380R bracket on eBay today just didn't want to buy it to have it not fit. Do you know if the A3380R bracket needs the adjusting strap as well? From the looks of the schematics of the parts diagram I would say not. Thoughts? Thanks for all your help

Great thanks for all the help! I looked for the Generator bracket A 3827R but had no luck so I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought the one you found on eBay. I also found another strap along with a couple of bolts and things. Thanks again for all your help
