H1 plow beam bumper

Below is a picture of a beam bumper for an H1 plow that I don't see where it mounts. I've been told it mounts to the side of the drawbar but the holes don't line up. I can drill new holes but am still not psure what the orientation should be. Can someone please take a picture of one so I can figure this out. FYI I called Sharps and asked the same question. He said he was looking right at one as he spoke to me. I offered to pay him to take a picture and send it to me and he refused. What the????

Thanks everyone!

The flat strap with all the bolt holes that you put bolts through to keep the drawbar from swinging. Bolt it on there.

I thought it was supposed to bolt horizontally to the underside of the drawbar support bracket with the other leg vertically up. Swing your drawbar to the left to make room for it, and see if the bolt holes line up. I believe both the bottom bolt holes in the drawbar bracket as well as your bumper are for 1/2" diameter bolts. I could be wrong, however....

Now that I see it I remember. The part with two holes mounts to the underside of the drawbar frame on the right side. The angled tab will face right. I'll try to get those manuals scanned tomorrow. From where it is in the second pic, turn it 1/4 turn clockwise. You also have to swing the drawbar to the left.

Maybe this will help? I noticed when I was highlighting this the bent part is wrong in this diagram however. The bent part should be towards the front of the tractor. Either way, yes, in your photo, turn the part 180 degrees still laying on the ground and lift it up under the drawbar bracket. You will need to move your drawbar over.

Haha...the photos here are a little different than the you emailed me. The photos here, turn the part 90 degrees, not 180. :)

Sounds like the others guys got the mounting figured out. Where did you find one of those pieces ? They are pretty rare.

I just bought an H1 plow that was complete. It was made in 1941 and the guy I bought it from has owned it for 25 years. He restored the tractor but didn't want the plow anymore. Sharps has one on their website but they are currently out of stock.

Over the years I have had several H's and implements and only ever came across 1 of those. I made a cardboard pattern a few years back and sent to a guy. He was going to make some. I don't remember who he was ?
Back when I was 13 years old a rusted up H1 plow got me started in restoration. I think I have everything for it now ? but I have never mounted it on a tractor in all these years. I had a NEW point and moldboard I put on it that my uncle had still in his barn. Plow set out at a dealer for years. It was on consignment to sell but never did sell so they brought it back. Levers were rusted fast to each other and would not move. Took a lot of work to bring it back, but it survived.
