What does it take to fix on a 4630? Need to be split? Thanks

You won't need to split, but to remove the Pawl the rock shaft needs to be lifted off, a lot of times it's the spring on the out side that is the problem, or the cable check those things out before you go any farther..

Is that the same for a 4230? Mine will roll when in park and makes a clicking noise.

Basically the same deal,, check the linkage and spring on the right side first, if the Pawl needs replace you lift the rock shaft and the top cover on the transmission,, which can be a little Ornery with a cab on..but do-able...

If your shift lever has gotten hard to pull
the cable might have gotten stiff.

The roll pin going through the spring and shaft on the pawl is probably sheared off ...I've seen this more once
