Hello friends,
What is the best or easiest way to remove the hood on a 1935 John Deere B.
I assume the steering shaft needs to be addressed?
Thanks for any advice,
Joe

Wish i could remember how I did it but it has been some 30 or so years ago that I did it on my 1935 JD-B. Do not know if it would be in the owners manual or not but I could look if you want me to. I have the owners manual that came with my 1935 B so it is not a reprint but a true 1935 manual

Remove steering wheel, remove bearing cap on front of steering box. Don't loose any shims if there are any. Remove steering shaft from the front and remove hood. When U remove the steering shaft have the wheels straight so when U install it U can mesh the gears in the same position.

Just remove all the bolts holding it on & lift it off. Tank goes with the hood.. Steering shaft comes out the front after you take the wheel off.

The hood will come off without the steering shaft removal. Just remove muffler and intake pipe, and unbolt and slide toward rear of tractor. Ron Mn
