DLTX Bore Resizing

Sometime back, Forty40 had a post about boring a DLTX 71 carb Venturi to 1.4", the throttle side to 1.8" and the choke side to 1.9". Just wondering if anyone had any success with this or had better suggestions? Also, where to get the 1.8" throttle plate?

Well, you did ask for suggestions. Mine is , a tenth of an inch in dia will never show up on the track. Spend your time & money elsewhere.

The 71 carb has a 1.125 dia. which is a .994 square inch venturi area going to 1.4 dia. increases it to 1.54 square inch of area a substantial increase. Volume goes up by the square of the increased area. Need to run it on a flow bench to ensure that power nozzle is correct height in veturi for good singnal.

Works real well, have been using it for 2 seasons. If allowed, a Duplex is better, flows more stock than a 71 bored out.

Which nozzel did you use and did you change the height of the nozzle in the Venturi. Some say its best to use the DLTX 51 nozzle rather than
the one from the 71. What tractor are you using it on and about how many cubes? Thanks
