injector pump timing model r

Pulled the cover off the injector pumps and found one spraying fuel out of the plunger end. I have sent it out for rebuild and am now just waiting.
The John deere model r manual that I have covers the very basics but does leave out a lot of the small steps.
Is there anyone that could give me a step by step procedure for installing and timing the 2 pumps.
Thank you in advance for your help

Too late now ,but tightening the end cap may of cured it ?
Had a couple of 720's that leaked there and it worked on them.
Sorry I don't have anything any better than an I&T book for an R.

Tried that but no luck. The small steps that my John deere manual leaves out are

1. when lining up marks on flywheel how do you know whether you are on a compression or intake stroke or do you have to pull the valve cover and watch the push rods 2, When installing pump do I have to remove lines to injectors or just slacken off the adjusters to get the pump in
I know that if you have done one these are pretty simple things but my manual from john deere just skips over them

I'd watch the valves to make sure you are on compression stroke. You can even check for pressure in the injector hole. On the 720 book shows making a tool to check the TDC mark by using the injector hole and a dial indicator. You also are to check that the marks in the pump window DO NOT ever leave the window or else you can wreck the pump. Plunger will get shoved too far up into it. Injectors should of been pulled and sent in with the pumps at rebuild time. They should be calibrated to each pump and returned marked as such. So the injectors and lines should already be off when reinstalling the pumps.
If it is a true JD manual I find it hard to believe it skips over these steps ? Maybe it is in a different section ? or maybe a reprint left some pages out ? Or perhaps it refers you to reference another manual number ? JD did sell one for just pumps and injectors. But I can't remember if it gets specific about each model ?
