Gas resistant sealant

I have recently bought and installed a gas tank for a John Deere model E11/2 hp hit and miss motor from Hit and miss from Ohio. It turns out that the front flange on the tank was not sealed.Any idea what I can seal it with that is gas resistant? Thanks, Mark

I would think red kote would do it.

I have had good luck with a product called "Seal All". IT is petroleum resistant. A lot of stores keep it. You can buy tubes in various sizes.

Sounds like you have a steel tank rather than a plastic one. I've had good luck with the Seal All as previously posted....
I have also used a fuel resistant epoxy that I purchased at an auto parts store....It worked well also.
I'm almost ready to install a tank that I purchased from the same source......I'll be sure to check it.
