530 problems

I took the gas and fuel filter off the tractor for repair and cleaning about three years ago. It has sat since then and only recently did I put it back together. It started right up but ran a little funky. It ran fine before I pulled the tank. I let it sat for awhile then if would not start and is flooding out. I can smell gas and pulled plugs and they were wet. Plenty of fire to the plugs. I'm thinking since it sat so long the float is stuck. Any other ideas before I look at the carb?
Thanks.

Yep, either way you're going into the carb. If the float isn't stuck, then there's a bit a dirt holding the needle open.

I had the same thing happen to my JD 520. I attached a clear plastic line from the bottom of the carb. With line turned up wards, gasoline would rise past the split line were the bowl meets the housing on the carb. Yes....the needle and seat had foreign material...........
