300 Industrial gas quitting issue

I have a 1968 John Deere 300 industrial tractor gas power that keeps quitting once it's warmed up and is under load. There is no fuel issue it seems to be an ignition issue if I let it cool down it will start back up. I have replaced the coil points condenser cap rotor plugs. When it quits if I try to crank it sometimes it will try to fire if I hold the key in the crank position but quits firing as soon as I release the key. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thank You

I wonder if that model has a resistor or resistance wire in the circuit ? You could make up a temporary bypass wire with alligator clips and try that when it fails.
That is a classic sign of a bad coil. Have you tried a known good one ? The new one could even be bad. Condenser too.

Where exactly should I put the jumper wire? I read that the voltage from the coil to the distributor drops when the engine is being cranked and that checks out as correct. I have the service and operators manuals for the tractor but they don't seem to cover this issue. There is a load enrichment solenoid on the carbeurator and that is working properly. Thanks for the reply.

For test purpose only I'd jump straight from battery + to the coil + term. The coil - terminal should be hooked to the points as that should be a neg. ground system. This would eliminate any wire or resistor problems.

Thanks I will give that a try if it ever stops raining here!
