Fuel Grommets

was over at e-pay looking for fuel grommets for a 620, they seem to be black. I saw some other grommets for the 3020 and 4020 in red. I think red would look sharp but not sure if that was original. After more searching I couldn't find many that are red. Does anyone know if the fuel grommets were originally red for many models or just a few? I want to keep mine original but like the red look

IIRC the 2 cyl. models were black and the new generation were red. I don't know if they will interchange ?

Yes that is what I am trying to figure out. I have some other JDs where the grommet for the fuel is missing, I was surprised to see red ones, I was thinking they were for a special series but it looks like a fair amount had red ones way back when but not entirely sure, trying to do my homework to figure that out. :eek:
 
All my two cylinders and new gen's have red grommets and gas caps if they run on gas. Gas is stored in red cans. Correct or not it just makes sense to me and I also personally think the red looks sharp especially with a red gas cap.

I agree with you, I have a 520 also that looks like it takes a B3317R grommet but I can only find in black, and my 80 looks to use a R1385R but that is also in black. I can't decide on trying to find red ones or just use the black ones that are available. I wish I could make up my mind! :shock:
