3010 injection pump

Does the elbow fitting that the injector bleed off line connects to, supposed to have the housing pressure regulator valve in it? Thanks

Some did, some did not. just depends on the weather I guess. I do believe it was there from the factory, but over time lots have been thrown away. I see pumps show up here with it. Then I see them with out. Almost all of them ran fine for a long time with, or with out. I always install one after a rebuild IF the customer is willing to put one on. They are a little pricey for such a small little fitting. This fittings job is to increase the case pressure a little to help the advance work properly. For all of this to work right you must first have the vein pump and pressure regulator working right. As a pumpman I can not say that the pump will run any different with, or with out the ball check fitting. Others may disagree. Al

Original 3010 and 4010 pumps had no advance, and no ball check fitting. The advance housing pump updates were where I think the return check valve may have started. Like Al, I've seen them both with and without. It did help stabilize the advance some, as the 20 series came with them. They are pricey, and in two sizes, 13265 is the smaller and the 16800 is the larger flare size.

Thanks for correcting my mistake.

Surprisingly the elbow isn't that high priced at JD but the part spec's doesn't show a check ball.
