MT barely runs. Unless you spray crc elec cleaner in the distributor then it runs fine. What should I look for? Thanks, Mark.

Id look for teeny hairline cracks or carbon traces (cap and rotor area) which may allow HV sparking and arcing and look for signs of oil or moisture in the distributor. You might clean/buff/polish the points and check their gap while you're at it.

I have put new points ,plugs, condenser, rotor, cap, wires and coil. I took the points and condenser back out of the distributor and cleaned all the connections and surfaces real good. Still the same results. Thanks for any help, Mark

Since you rechecked those connections I'm sure the flat spring or terminal isn't touching the base. Sounds like maby your insulated terminal stud is breaking down. Just for grins put a timing light on it before you spray the cleaner again. SPARK should show centered in the window at full throttle. TC/DC should show at low idle. If it doesn't spray it again so it runs good and check it again.

Ever since I put an electronic ignition in my MT, it starts first time EVERY time. That was 3 years ago. It was the hardest starting tractor I had. I considered giving it to my son in law. Glad I didnt, and glad I spent the money that I had earmarked just for that purpose.
