About what year did JD stop putting the lettering on the rear axle? This one is a 44.

Take a look at the diagram below.

Note the housing (Key 1) [b:654c4848f0]AB 3701 R[/b:654c4848f0] changed starting with serial number 201000.

Take a look at the table below.

Note that the starting serial number for 1947 is 199744.
