Model 70 front rim?

Had a front rim self destruct while moving a bucket of dirt in the loader. The existing tires are 6.50X16 - I have a new set of 6.00X16 tires I was waiting to install when the existing ones were shot. When measuring the rims, they both actually measure 17"+ in diameter, but I assume they are 16" because of the tire. Also, one is 6" wide and one is 7" wide. They are 6 lug - 3" on center. I have 2 questions - can I run a 6" tire on a 7" rim, and are the lug pattern and center hole the same on all rims for the 70 wide front?
Thanks!

That 17" was outside diameter... right? You measure the rim
down where the tire seats. The 16" is ID of the tire.
The rims were probably supposed to be 6". Again if you are
not measuring outside width. Never the less your tire should work.
You mean 6 lug - 6" on center?

Yes, take a look at the diagrams below.

Note the disk and rim wheel (Key 8) [b:654c4848f0]JD 1290[/b:654c4848f0] 6.00 x 16" is the same for both the gas and diesel tractor.

Hope this helps.
