2550 hydraulic filter

Nope. Ensure that the bottom of the filter bowl is rinsed out clean as some sediment will settle there . There are two transmission drain plugs , the main plug front and Center . Then a 2nd drain plug offset at the very back under the three point hitch lower arms support shaft.
Just changed the filter on my 1640 and drained a quart from each drain plug after letting the oil settle for a week . A wee bit of water and 35 years worth of dark stuff flushed out.

An other thing for every one to check is to make sure the cone in the filter bowl is in place, I have seen a few that must have stuck to the old filter and got discarded, this allows the filter to spin freely in the bowl ripping the rubber seal off the end of the filter and sending it out the clean oil circuit,,bad things happen after that...

Surely you follow the instructions in your ""tractors operators manual"" and change the hyd oil more often than 35 years????
