Is a 4040 the same as a 4230?

Is a 4040 the same tractor as a 4230 and what is the most popular and durable transmission ? Also are they better than the 4020 or just newer?

The 4040 is the same as the last version of the 4230, the cab and seat would be improved on the 4040, and my choice of transmissions would be the Quad Range..4040,4240 and 4440's are some of the best tractors that Deere made, they are strong,durable, and have no electronics to give you Ghostly head aches.. There are a lot of them in my area and I rarely have one in the shop...
