Need Input on 650

My neighbor looked at a 650 today - new bar turf tires and generally in good condition for its age - about 1200 hrs. He wants to use it to pull a 6 ft finish mower so he can leave his bucket on his New Holland TC30 and not use that for mowing. I was surprised at the horsepower of the 650 - lower than I would have guessed. Will it handle a 6' finish mower for him? Thanks,

I would say no. Factory only put 5 foot ones on them. We have a 750 which is more power and the 5 foot suits it well. The 750 did dyno at more HP than advertised.

Not really enough power. I use a 72 inch finish mower on my 89 JD 850 and that is plenty big in shorter grass and too much in heavy grass. You probably could get by in shorter grass or have to go very slow to keep up the RPM's plus have to ballast up the front end to balance the extra weight in the rear. My 850 has been bullet proof but I wish it was a 950 or 1050 with power steering.
