JD 70 block in a JD 60

Heard a conversation the other day about a guy who put a 70 gas block, pistons and head in a JD 60. Is this possible? If so, what has to be changed besides the block, pistons, head, and rods? Crankshaft? Thanks for the help

Tractor puller guys can go to great lengths (and expense) to do weird things. Many keep it top secret as to how or what was done.

The block is wider, so the frame would have to be modified, which won't be easy since it's cast. A new one could be fabricated. The crankshaft is wider as well. If all you want is a bigger bore, get a 6-3 power block. It bolts right into a 60. 95% chance the bore is worn a lot, bore it to 6.125" and use standard bore G pistons. You'll have more cubic inches than trying to use 70 parts, and WAYYYYYYYY easier and cheaper

We're casting blocks that will allow you to go with a 7 inch bore and a 60 head in the A. Had one running NATPA with one all last winter
